Time Flies When Your Having Fun...

I know I suck at blogging, and I'm not even going to bother saying I will try to be better and keep it updated more often because I probably wont. So for those of you who "follow" my blog your just going to have to live with what you get. Anyways.... A LOT has happened since my last post in JUNE... and when  I say A LOT I mean A LOT...

Matt moved to Utah at the end of May. And after a ton of Facetime and long trips back and forth we got engaged on June 6. He came down to New Mexico to surprise me and propose on my parents front porch ( I know that might sound kinda lame to some people because it wasn't some extravagant engagement, but we have a lot of history on my parents front porch so it was special to us). After that everything got super busy.

My wonderful Aunts threw me a  sexy kitchen bridal shower before I moved to Utah. It was a lot of embarrassing fun. I am so grateful I have Aunts that will do anything for me.

Me and my mom took a trip up to Utah at the beginning of July to accomplish a long list of wedding necessities. Me and Matt took our engagement pictures, we found my wedding dress, and I tried to find a place to live. It was a busy but fun trip.

I moved up to Utah at the end of July. The next week we were off to LA for Matt's sister's wedding. It was a nice get away/vacation. I got to meet most of Matt's family that lives in California and got to spend some time on the beach, who can complain about that.

After we got back from LA we went to New Mexico to help with his sister's reception. When we finally got back to Utah it was time for the job search to begin.

After some job searching, I went back to New Mexico at the beginning of September for my little brother Taft's homecoming. He served his mission in Curitiba, Brazil.

When we got back from New Mexico time flew and it was already September 29! I don't really remember much about that day. I know I wasn't really nervous but I had no idea what was going on. As soon as we got to the temple I just went where they told me to and did what they said and then we were married!

Since we got married in the middle of the semester we couldn't really take a long honeymoon. We went to Park City for the weekend and loved it. It was the perfect time of year to go. It wasn't to cold and all the trees were beautiful. We stayed in the Waldorf Astoria, which was amazing. We decided that we are going to save and go back to that hotel again next September.

Unfortunately we had to go to New Mexico a day earlier than planned. Our good friend Joe Applegate had passed away on September 29 and Matt had the honor of being a pallbearer. It was probably one of the hardest funerals I have had to attend yet. The service was super nice and there were a lot of people that showed up to show their love and respect to Joe. I know that Joe is in a better/happier place now and that his family will get the chance to be with him again. He will be greatly missed.

On a happier note... Our reception went great thanks to my amazing family. I really can't say enough about how much my family did. I always knew that my family would do anything for anyone and I have seen it in action before. But you truly don't realize the love your family has for you until you are the one they are helping. It is amazing.

Finally after being married for 6 weeks our lives have kinda slowed down. I am working full time at a medical supply place as a billing specialist and Matt is going to school and looking for a part time position.

Aside from the snow I am getting used to Utah (slowly). BUT I am super excited to go home for Thanksgiving break in a week.

I hope I caught everyone up on our crazy lives. Sorry it was so long. Maybe if I updated my blog more often I wouldn't have to make such long posts. Oh well... At least its updated now right?
